Qualified Electrician Course

​WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?
This course is for anybody wishing to become a qualified electrician.  It is aimed at people wanting to be self employed, qualified electricians.  The course will enable you to sign off your own work as it will give you sufficient qualifications to join an electrical competent person scheme (CPS).

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO TAKE THIS COURSE?
The qualified electricians course is for people who wish to become qualified electricians. Although there are no prior qualifications required for you to attend this course it is recommended that you have a basic knowledge and understanding of electrical principles and installations.  The 1st module is Fundamental Electrics and is recommended you complete this prior to moving on to further mudules. You just need basic English and mathematical skills and a willingness to learn.

The course is modular and can be spread over a period of time.  Each module is one week in duration and we run each module every month.  This allows you to spread the time taken to complete the course and the time taken to pay for the course over as many months as you need.  There is no time limit on completing the first part of the course, however the NVQ and its associated portfolio must be completed within 18 months of being registered on it.



HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
Each Module of The qualified electricians course is 1 week Starting with a foundation course.   The last 4 weeks of the course cover scientific principles, 3 phase installations, fault finding and diagnostics, transformers along with different types of motors and many other aspects of electrical knowledge.  There is also  a portfolio of work required for the NVQ Element which is limited to a maximum time allowance of 18 months

The qualified electricians course covers every subject area you need to know to enable you to not only pass the exams, but to work in the field with confidence, as a qualified electrician.

   4.  Preparation and Organisation of Electrical Installations & Site Restoration

   5.  Domestic Electrical Installer and Installation Design

​

   6.  Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations

​

   7.  Practical Inspection, Testing and Fault Finding of Electrical Installations

​

   8.  End point Assessment including conduit, trunking, cable tray and other portfolio             elements that may not be possible to complete in dwellings.
