​WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE AMENDMENT 4 18th EDITION EXAM ONLY?
The 18th Edition Amendment 4, wiring regulations Exam only is recommended for electricians who have taken the 18th Edition Wiring regulations course within the last 6 months;  Or for candidates who already have a very good working knowledge of the wiring regulations and use them on a day to day basis

WHAT DO I NEED TO TAKE THIS COURSE?
This 18th Edition Amendment 4 Update Course is limited to candidates who already hold the 18th Edition qualification.

Further to this, it is a requirement that any candidate opting to take this course has a thorough and in depth knowledge of the 18th edition wiring regulations.

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
The 18th edition amendment 4 update exam is 2 hours duration, with the Full City & Guilds exam taking place on the day of your choosing.  The exam for this course is the same exam as that for the 3 day course.  Non of the accrediting bodies do an update exam, hence the requirement for an in depth knowledge of the wiring regulations.

It is a legal requirement under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and is advised by BS7671:2026 that any person carrying out electrical work in the U.K. must be competent to do so.



All electrical governing bodies will require all members to hold the BS7671:2026 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification in order to gain or hold existing memberships.
